Gazing out the window, I was mesmerized by the blanket of newly fallen snow covering the landscape, a picturesque winter wonder. A breathtaking moment that would gradually vanish. That thought brought me back to my task at hand, creating newborn photographs of Azalea Jade. Looking at her porcelain skin, ten little toes and tiny fingers, I knew that this also was a blink of time that could only be preserved with photographs.
I have to admit that newborn photography is one of my absolute favorite types of photography. I love capturing moments that otherwise would fade in time. New parents are usually sleep deprived and slightly overwhelmed. Their days run into one another and before they know it their newborn is in the next stage of babyhood. The newborn days are a faint memory and no matter how hard they try to recall that perfect little bundle, it’s a blur. As a new parent, newborn photography is the most precious gift you can give yourself.
I loved capturing the intimate photographs of Azalea with her Mom and Dad. Honestly, no prompting by me was necessary to create these precious moments as Mom and Dad admire their baby girl.
At ten days old Azalea was very curious of her surroundings and was willing to let me swaddle and adorn her with pretty litttle accesseries. As we hoped, the photo session tired her out and she succumbed to a deep slumber allowing me to create some precious newborn poses. I am so grateful for the opportunity to capture these newborn images for her family to enjoy forever.
